10-year-old boy takes first steps a year after being thrown from the 10th floor of Tate Modern museum

A 6-year-old boy has taken his first steps more than a year after he was pushed from the 10th floor of the Tate Modern.

The boy, who hasn’t been named, was visiting London with his parents from France and had run ahead of them when he was picked up and thrown off the balcony.

He suffered a bleed to the brain and was left with life-changing injuries in the attack, which took place on August 4, 2019.

Now, though, his parents have confirmed that he has taken his first steps after months of rehab.

In a post on a GoFundMe page, which has raised more than £206,000 ($250,000) for the boy’s treatment, his family said their son had moved to a new rehabilitation center.

“In this new center, our child not only has more rehabilitation sessions but he starts new activities such as adapted sports, which was not possible before,” the post read.

“All these changes have cheered our son (and us too) up and we are already seeing new progress: he can at last stand on his legs without any help or support!

“Furthermore, his memory is gradually improving, he can now remember activities he has done the same day or the day before!

“Regarding food, he now eats almost alone (after everything has been cut out and prepared for him) and, in a suitable glass, he begins to drink slightly thickened liquids! It’s a very important progress.”

Reports state that the young boy “fell head-first towards the ground” and landed on a fifth-floor balcony.

Jonty Bravery, from Northolt, England, was 17 years old when he committed the horrific act. He was jailed for a minimum of 15 years, with the judge warning him he may never be released.

Such a terrible nightmare for all involved. I’m glad this brave boy has found the strength to get better, his progress is heartwarming.
